Education

Akhila has an MSc Child Psychology from the University of Nottingham Trent, U.K and MSc Applied Psychology from St Francis College for Women.

Experience

She started her career in 2016, at Hope Trust Rehabilitation followed by Dys and That as an educator. Her most significant contribution to mental healthcare thus far was from 2018-19 when she worked for Rainbow Children’s Hospital as an Assistant Psychologist, under the guidance of Dr Padma Palvai (psychiatrist) and Dr Somashekar (clinical psychologist). Under their tutelage, she worked in the area of early identification and treatment plan of Autism spectrum disorder and counselled parents to improve communication with their children and to foster healthy parent-child relationships.

Beyond her counselling practice, Akhila is dedicated to promoting mental health awareness in the community. She conducts workshops and seminars for parents, community organizations, and underprivileged children, sharing valuable insights and practical tools to enhance children’s resilience and overall well-being.
